Have you ever been to your local grocery store, and noticed that everything has been rearranged? The fresh veggies are now at the far end rather than near the door, and the queues start in a different place?
This is how I feel about Facebook. Every few months, it seems, something has been fiddled with, dimensions have been changed, buttons rearranged, and it takes a little while to figure out the new layout.
Of course, we’re told that these changes are in response to user feedback, and that the site is constantly improving the experience for users. Fair enough, but then it’s important to know how that affects your page, and your posts.
For brands using Facebook, you want the content you publish to look its best. And it seems that most of the content brands post are, in fact, images:

With that in mind, check out this handy infographic with dimensions for how images are now displayed, for both photo posts and hyperlinks:

Some other handy tips for photo uploads on Facebook:
- Upload images in the highest resolution possible. Check the box that says "High Quality" when using the Facebook uploading tool
- You can post photos that will be seen on your wall, one at a time, or you can post albums, which group pictures together and can be viewed as a collection
- Photos can be tagged, and also geo-tagged on a map, to give it more context
- If you have an Instagram account, you can link it to your Facebook account and publish pictures that way too
Here's hoping you can master the latest changes ... before it changes all over again.
