Our team

The people who steer Flow
Bheki Shongwe is the chairman of Flow Communications

Bheki Shongwe

Chairman

Bheki is Flow’s mentor, father figure and moral compass. He has been chairman of Flow Communications since 2008 and his astute guidance has been invaluable to the growth of the company. His 30+ years of business experience in finance, marketing, sales and general management have held Flow in good stead, and provided a solid foundation from which the company has flourished.

Tara Turkington is the CEO of Flow Communications

Tara Turkington

CEO

Without Tara, there’d be no Flow – it was hers before it was ours. Given form in a spare bedroom in her house many years ago, it has grown from a two-person operation into one of South Africa’s largest and most prestigious communications companies. This happened under Tara’s watch, with the help of Tiffany and Bheki. Tara is an expert in social media, communications and content.

Tiffany Turkington-Palmer is the managing director of Flow Communications

Tiffany Turkington-Palmer

Managing director

Tiffany is Flow’s managing director. She runs the company (along with Tara), handles client relations and new work opportunities, trouble-shoots, project-manages, galvanises the troops, pours tequila and laughs a lot (not necessarily at the same time). Oh, and she’s won awards and stuff. And, most importantly, she’s a mom.

Richard Frank is Flow’s CTO

Richard Frank

CTO

Richard is Flow’s CTO, and has extensive experience in managing large development teams and complex web projects. With a master’s degree in journalism, an impressive knowledge of the web and a beard, he oversees Flow’s digital strategy and work in the digital realm – work that has been recognised through numerous awards.

Saajidah Suliman is Flow's financial director

Saajidah Suliman

Financial director

Saaj is a financial accountant with 10 years’ experience. She completed a BCom honours degree in the certified theory of accounting (CTA) through Unisa while doing her auditing articles. She is an integral member of Flow’s admin and finance team, where she plays a role in refining processes. Her strengths lie in financial accounting, costings, report management, human resources and payroll.

Edwina van der Burg is Flow's head of content

Edwina van der Burg

Director: content

Eddie, who joined Flow’s board of directors in 2018, is an experienced content specialist and journalist who has spent more than 25 years managing, writing and editing across a range of publications and for a variety of clients. As head of content, Eddie plays an important oversight role on Flow’s projects, helping maintain the quality and integrity of our work. She also takes responsibility for all things related to diversity, equity and inclusion, and keeps a close eye on whether everyone is having fun while doing what we do.
