Grey skies, puddles of mud and wellingtons – these are a few of our favourite winter things.

Until 15 October 2015, two children (under the age of 18) ride for free with every paying adult on weekends, public holidays and school holidays. And, if you buy your tickets online, you save even more. The iconic red buses are the best way to the see the Mother City and keep your kids entertained during the holidays. They get a free activity book and their very own channel to listen to during the tour.

One ticket gets you four tours and up to 27 stops – and you can hop on and off as many times as you like.

Two children under 18 ride for free with every adult return ticket purchased. Valid on weekends, public holidays and school holidays, the ticket also entitles the kids to a treasure hunt map and something sweet when they hand in their voucher at the Shop at the Top and at the café. And if you’re looking for a bite to eat, the Table Mountain Café at the summit is running a Kidz Season Café Special, while adults can tuck into hearty winter menu items.

The Two Oceans Aquarium is a great indoor activity for the family, and with their recently launched debit order option for new memberships, it’s affordable, too.
