Two years ago Flow designed and developed a website for the largest aquarium in the southern hemisphere, uShaka Sea World in Durban.
The Oceanographic Research Institute (ORI), Sea World Education Centre and uShaka Sea World are divisions of the South African Association for Marine Biological Research (SAAMBR), which manages the challenges of marine conservation along the South African coastline and other areas of the Western Indian Ocean.
Since April 2014 marks SAAMBR's 10th anniversary at its current location in uShaka Marine World, this was an opportune time to launch the organisation’s first online newsletter.
“What better way to celebrate another milestone than by launching our long-awaited newsletter? Seamail offers us a platform to reach a wide audience and keep them in touch with the work being done by our scientists, marine educators and animal care staff,” says uShaka Sea World’s communications and logistics spokesperson, Ann Kunz.
Commenting on the development of the newsletter, Flow programmer Kudakwasho Nharo says, "The newsletter is a lovely piece of design that conforms to current principles. As a developer, I carried out intensive research to enable me to build the best newsletter platform possible, given its complexity. This was an enjoyable development project and I learned a lot from it."
uShaka Sea World is driven by a committed team who are passionate about marine conservation and dedicated to the animals in their care. The aquarium is one of only a few such organisations worldwide that can claim to have had such a continuous, positive impact on marine conservation and the environment.
