Flow Communications

One of Flow Communications’ values is that we work with clients we love and always do work we enjoy doing. After six years in the business Flow Communications has grown to include clients such as South African Tourism, Operation Khanyisa, Cape Town Tourism and many others. Below are some comments from Flowstars about their favourite clients and why they’ve enjoyed working with them.

Flow Communications project manager Ros Caboz says, “It has to be the Dominican Convent School magazine. This project was a good example of how a great team works.

“The client was super organised, efficient and involved; they knew what they wanted and supplied the correct amount of content to fit the format. Flow had a brilliant design team working on the project – George Xafis produced an original and fresh new design, Stephanie Mazingi did the initial layouts and most of the DTP and Tina Brown did a design and layout tidy-up halfway through the project. Chief executive Tara Turkington made sure the subbing was up to Flow standards and the job printed beautifully without any hitches.”

Big Break Legacy is what we are most proud of,” says Shoni Makhari, chief executive of Flow PR. “We are proud of the work they are doing, which is demystifying entrepreneurship. Allowing people to ‘awaken the giant within’.

“Entrepreneurs create employment and there is no greater cause to get behind in South Africa at the moment. Unemployment and income inequality will determine the level of social stability and sustainability of the democratic experiment. Big Break Legacy allows people to realise that you do not need to be a rocket scientist to become an entrepreneur, and that anyone with an idea that satisfies a need in the market, coupled with an appetite for risk, can become an entrepreneur,” concludes Shoni.

Writer and media developer Laura Maggs says: “I have really enjoyed working for Cape Town clients such as Table Mountain and the Two Oceans Aquarium. I’ve also loved working on the Harties Cableway website – it’s doing so well and it has been awesome to be part of such a great project.”

Junior project manager Zintle Mtyeku says working on the South African Tourism social networks - Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Flickr - has allowed her to use her marketing background. “I have the most active interaction with SAT. I love working with people. The account has brought on new challenges for me and great opportunities as well.”

Designer George Xafis loved working on the development of the Drama for Life website. “They had a creative thought process. It was clear, concise and conceptually intelligent. Finding out what they wanted was like a fresh spring breeze.

“I liked the fact that I could go and interact with their product and view them in their space,” continues George. “This gave me a deeper understanding of what the client wanted long term and short term. They were easy to get along with and there was no ego to inhibit the creative process. They let me do my job. In turn they got a website that suits them and their audience.”
