Flow Communications

Flow Communications was recently asked to give the Themba Interactive website a new look.

What’s interesting to note, is that when clients ask for a new website, the words “fun, professional, edgy and interactive” are always part of the brief.

So how did Flow Communications use the client’s requirements to create a dynamic website that would communicate the needs of Themba Interactive – southern Africa’s leading applied drama and theatre organisation?

“I was thrilled to work on the Themba Interactive website and taking the design to the next level. I drew inspiration from character expressions, movement, fluidity and Themba Interactive’s theatrical flair,” says designer Lorraine Gumede.

“I used design elements that are [at] the core of Themba and I’m pleased with the outcome and collaborative effort of the team,” concludes Lorraine.

Programmer Klaus Alusa says, “From a programming point of view we wanted to keep the site easy to navigate as Themba relies on funding. We wanted funders to be able to find important information quickly and we’ve also added cool features so actors and scholars can access research information such as theses.”

Themba Interactive uses applied drama and theatre performances to engage and create dialogue with communities about issues such as HIV/Aids, sexual reproduction, human rights, social justice and diversity.
