Designer and industrial lighting supplier LEDS-C4 recently commissioned Flow to create a new website for it, that encompasses its core ideals and personality.
LEDS-C4 is a company that puts quality first, and functionality is allowed to dictate form. Its lights are simple and efficient, yet manage to exhibit a grace and beauty created by strict observance of function-driven design.
It was this love of simplicity, and desire for simplicity, that fuelled the design for the LEDS-C4 website.
Designer George Xafis says: “My primary focus for this website, and its navigation and user experience, was based on functionality, simplicity, practicality and contrast between calm white space and detailed photography.
“Enticing photography; clean, breathable space; and contrasting colour lead the user through subtle transitions into the variety of products. Through these products one can easily search the designers who made them. The detail is minimal, but this only enhances the easy navigation through the pages.”
Darren Caboz, the web developer on the project, notes that “the whole site gives off a good energy with its clean, spacious design”, and that “the fresh way the lighting is displayed on the site really exhibits how nice the products are”.
When he saw his site become a reality and go live, LEDS-C4’s Brad Kalish’s response was appropriately simple. He described it as “fantastic”, adding: “Thanks for the hard work.”
