Anyone who has travelled the Kruger Lowveld region can attest to its spellbinding nature. Whether it’s the unparalleled sunsets, the majestic mountains of the Blyde River Canyon or the untamed bushveld around the Kruger National Park, it’s almost impossible not to be drawn back again and again.

It makes sense, then, that Kruger Lowveld Tourism is one of our favourite clients. They joined the Flow family in late 2013, tasking us with creating a comprehensive online presence for their brand.

“Kruger Lowveld Tourism is an amazing organisation to work with,” says Flow’s CEO, Tara Turkington.

“As a destination marketing organisation, they are closely connected with their members, communicating with them frequently on issues ranging from industry awards to potential problems for tourists in the areas of Mpumalanga and Limpopo they operate in.”

Flow was originally briefed to develop a website to showcase the area’s rich tourism offerings, including iconic attractions like the Kruger National Park and the Panorama Route with its world-famous Blyde River Canyon, as well as the many lesser-known treasures in the area, such as small towns like Sabie.

Now, nearly a year since the website launched, Flow has taken on an exciting new project for Kruger Lowveld Tourism.

“We are currently building a number of mini sites for the different Kruger Lowveld regions, like Sabie, Nelspruit, Barberton, Pilgrim’s Rest and more, giving each its own unique voice while maintaining the brand identity of Kruger Lowveld as the parent site,” says Flow journalist and media developer Stuart Dickinson.

“It’s an exciting project that will give more visibility to each area as a premier tourist destination.”

The head of marketing at Kruger Lowveld Tourism, Lisa Sheard, says the organisation has moved from strength to strength since the website launched.

“We’ve had a wonderful year working with Flow Communications. Once the website went live, we, with Flow’s assistance, were able to start generating regular blog content, which has pushed up our web ranking on Google’s search listings.

“The next leg of our journey with Flow is going to be the development of a new section of our website, aptly named ‘Kruger Lowveld Live’, where we plan to upload real-time video experiences of visitors to the region,” says Lisa.

Adds Tara: “It's an honour to work with the dedicated marketing team at Kruger Lowveld, led by the dynamic Lisa. I have personally grown to love this area so much. I spend at least a week here each year with my family. Hopefully, over time, many more people will feel the same!”
