Yesterday we bade farewell and wished a happy retirement to a beloved friend and protector of Johannesburg Flowstars, security guard Gerry Kekana.
Always welcoming and with a friendly smile from morning to evening, Gerry will be best remembered for his warm and compassionate demeanor. He was a wonderful man to have had looking after Flow’s Dunkeld offices.
Having been with us for about a year Gerry was no stranger to the team. “Even though he worked for ADT he was a part of Flow,” says Flow CEO Tara Turkington. “He was dedicated and passionate, and always went the extra mile – greeting everyone by name if he knew it”.
To honor his time with us Flow put together a farewell gift and shared some kind words and cake with Gerry.
“Gerry was known for his pleasant manner and chatty character, especially where matters of football were concerned. He was an avid support of Kaizer Chiefs and was always up for discussions involving the beautiful game,” says Flow Chairman Bheki Shongwe.
Over the last year we have grown to know and love him so much, he will surely be missed. “We wish him a happy retirement and pray that God gives him good health and strength,” adds Bheki.
