Take them to the largest mono-cableway in Africa
Treat the family to a ride up and down the mountain on the Harties Cableway, in Hartbeespoort.
Aside from a really cool experience, there’s a lot to do at the base station and at the top.
Kids can wander along the Dassie Loop walkway, or play in the KidZone, while parents try to sneak into their cars and out of the parking lot.
There are restaurants at the top, and at the bottom, and a gorgeous bar where you can take in views of the Magaliesberg and surrounds while sipping on a glass of something cold.
In Cape Town for the holidays?
The Table Mountain Aerial Cableway team has put together an array of fun family activities for Easter Sunday, including fairy magic, making bunny faces, the Pick an Egg Competition, mini-Mad Hatter’s tea party table and discovering a chest full of yummy eggs.
All the kiddies’ favourite Easter characters will be on hand to welcome the youngsters, including the Easter bunny, Easter egg fairy and the Mad Hatter.
Meet at the circular topography display outside the Upper Cable Station building at 10am. If weather doesn’t play nice, the alternative date is Easter Monday, 1 April.
Learn to love penguins and creepy-crawlies
The Two Oceans Aquarium is hosting a jam-packed holiday programme for all its visitors, young and old.
Until 7 April, twice-daily creepy-crawly shows, hosted by Giraffe House, will tackle some fears people have about snakes, spiders, frogs and dragons, while the AfriSam Children’s Play Centre will be abuzz with Easter-themed arts and crafts, including cookie and egg decorating and puppet shows.
The Aquarium’s penguin mascot, Samantha, will be making her way around the Aquarium, meeting and greeting people and handing out sweet Easter treats.

Heading to Durbs for Easter?
