Tackling The Challenges Of Reporting On The HIV/AIDS Pandemic
The University of the Witwatersrand’s HIV/AIDS and the Media Project, together with the Nelson Mandela Foundation, hosted an Editors’ Forum, as part of an ongoing campaign to encourage accurate and compelling reporting of HIV/AIDS.
The forum was composed of editors from all over South Africa, as well as medical professionals and science experts. Deputy Minister of Health Nozizwe Madlala-Routledge was the guest speaker and set the tone for a frank and robust discussion around pertinent issues. One of these was the scientific inaccuracies that contribute so much to undermining HIV/AIDS reporting.
Flow Communications transcribed, reported, edited, designed, laid out and printed a booklet detailing the proceedings of the forum.
