Flow Communications and WWF South Africa will use tonight’s Moonlight Mass bicycle ride in Cape Town to create awareness about various WWF Ride for Nature opportunities.
These include representing WWF at the 2014 Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge on 16 November, and the 2015 Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour, on 8 March next year.
Moonlight Mass will start from Green Point Circle at 9pm, so come along and join the fun. Follow @wwfSouthAfrica for updates and please use #ridefornature in any photos you take of panda cyclists at the event.
Ride for Nature is a campaign by WWF South Africa, which aims to raise “funds and awareness for conservation”.
“Many cyclists have a special appreciation for nature, so Ride for Nature gives them the chance to combine their twin passions by using their cycling to raise funds and awareness for conservation,” states the WWF SA website.
Cycling is known to be one of the most environmentally friendly ways of travelling, and that makes it the best way to create awareness about preserving nature.
For over a year Flow has been working hand-in-hand with WWF South Africa, and has pulled together a number of successful campaigns.
Mountain biker and Flow project manager Leanne Pohlmann applauds WWF South Africa for the work it does for conservation and its part in this event.
“As a rider myself, I find a lot of inspiration in nature, and supporting this initiative is therefore beneficial to conserving nature for future generations,” says Leanne.
“It is my first time taking part in the #ridefornature campaign, so riding a bike in a panda suit is going to be an experience,” says Flow project manager Riefkah Adams.
