We developed Vuvuzela Online.com, a student website for the University of the Witwatersrand, which was launched late in 2005.
The highly interactive site quickly became popular, with the publication of stories like one about a professor who was assaulted and left unconscious, allegedly by a student; one on a road rage incident on campus in which a student was hurt; and features like the one airing snippets from ex-Witsie Sibongile Khumalo’s upcoming album. During term time, the site attracts around 5,000 hits per day.
It’s the first time we’ve built a site on the Mambo content management system, and we’re impressed with its functionality and standards compliance.
