No one can argue that being around beautiful things doesn’t brighten one’s day, and at Flow we were lucky enough to have a chance to work with beautiful things when we created the new Streamlight website.

Streamlight designs and supplies creative lighting solutions, and works with artistic light fitting designs and beautiful spaces. In creating the website, we also worked with these stunning things, which brightened our workdays.

The challenge was ensuring that the site clearly expressed how unique Streamlight’s products and designs are. The lights that they supply are sculptures and artworks in their own right, and needed to be displayed with the due finesse.

Likewise, the intangible but invaluable Streamlight culture also had to be expressed, and the range of their services and products had to be displayed accurately.

Project manager Gianluca Tucci explains the process behind the conception of the website: “The project management for the new Streamlight site was an interesting challenge. The main focus was understanding the business and brand offering, as well as the people at Streamlight and seeing how we could add value and enhance the website experience.

“The most important aspect was building and designing a website that showcased the Streamlight experience and presented their products and projects, as well as all the information, in a way that resonates with their business.”

Designer George Xafis had the complex task of ensuring that all of these elements were represented in the look and feel of the website, as well as allowing space in the design for the more technical aspects of Streamlight’s work.

“A huge amount of research went into the design and application of the website,” says George. “Design inspiration was drawn from the organic and technical aspects of Streamlight's innovative light fittings, lighting design and aesthetic imagery. I enjoyed the challenge of working with such a massive client. I believe our multi-disciplined team met all expectations.”

“The design was tricky to implement, but the client was great to work with – creative and funky – and the way in which they bring environments together with lights is memorising,” says developer Darren Caboz.

Rob Kalish, Streamlight CEO, is also happy with the new site, saying, “The feedback that I’ve had has been very positive.”
