As football fever soars in South Africa, so does the excitement at Flow. Bafana Bafana will be facing Mexico today at Soccer City in Johannesburg and Flow will be ready and waiting to cover this spectacular event.
After failing to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations in January, our boys, and much of the country along with them, were in low spirits. It was up to the team and their Brazilian coach,
Carlos Alberto Parreira, to turn it all around. As a means to prepare them for the challenging games they are soon to face against football greats, Parreira sent the team to World Cup training camps in Brazil and Germany
A confident Bafana Bafana returned from training ready to prove themselves to South Africa and the world. Mexico, their opponent today, is a formidable team, ranking 17 on the FIFA/Coca Cola World Rankings. However, South Africa has worked hard to rise in the ranks, climbing from 90 in April this year to 83 in May. After an unbeaten 12-match run, a record for the team, South Africa is feeling the momentum of Bafana’s growing confidence.

South Africa 4 – 0 Thailand (May 16)
South Africa 1 – 1 Bulgaria (May 24)
South Africa 2 – 1 Colombia (May 27)
South Africa 5 – 0 Guatemala (May 31)
South Africa 1 – 0 Denmark (June 5).
South Africa is feeling the buzz and vuvuzelas can be heard reverberating all over the country day and night. At Flow we have shown our support in many ways, including wearing our soccer shirts to celebrate Football Fridays (and, more recently, just about every other day, too!) and by learning the Diski Dance.
