Black Friday officially marks the start of the Christmas shopping season in the United States. It usually falls on the day after Thanksgiving and retailers open early, close late and offer ridiculous discounts on goods.
Black Friday is the busiest shopping day of the year, and from this one day US retailers can usually gauge the success of the festive season.
Unfortunately, we have no such day in South Africa but judging from the comments on social networks, the search for the perfect Christmas gift has already started in earnest.
