This week we bring you a photo essay of our offices. From a two-person start-up five years ago (CEO Tara Turkington and Head of Programming Richard Frank in the spare bedroom inside Tara’s house), Flow Communications has grown to a staff component of about 30 people, with offices in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.

Foosball has become an integral part of Flow Communications and is a great way to unwind.
Lunch time at Flow is usually a hotbed of discussion, with topics varying from television programmes to the latest fossil finds.
Flow Jo’burg has a wonderful garden that is well maintained by our gardener and web development student, John Kazembe. When people want some peace and quiet (or peace of mind and a little sunshine) they usually take a walk in the garden and listen to birds chirping away. The stairs on the right lead to Flow’s secret garden, perfect for picnics and lunches while relaxing on the lush green.
Flow’s writing studio is as busy as any newsroom, with our journalists writing for numerous publications and websites.
The programming studio, also called “The Tower”, is where programmers sit. After the design is drawn up and the words are ready, the programmers load it all up onto the websites they’ve built (also sometimes sparing time to train our writers in online content management).
The design studio is where design ideas are conceptualised, presented, and ultimately developed into the beautiful websites, flyers, print jobs and many other quality communications materials Flow is known for.
