With the launch of their new clothing range, 46664 wanted a brand new site to which the press and would-be buyers could be directed. And if that wasn’t exciting enough, they needed it to go “live” as the press conference took place, giving the Flowstars one week to build a new site from scratch (which would be a new Flow record!)
Flowstars Richard and Stephen Frank took charge of the situation, working overtime to make sure the site was up and running by the time the media had gathered to hear about the new clothing range. “We built it over a week”, says Richard, “taking the best elements from the old site and adding them to the new one. From concept to ‘live’, it was the quickest site we’ve built.”
New software was also used. “It’s the first site to be programmed with ExpressionEngine 2. We set up a dedicated server, hosted by Rackspace Cloud, to allow us to keep the old site running while the new one was built.”
In the short term, the new site was intended to give a sneak peak of the new clothing range, as well as to provide essential 46664 information including the ethos behind the campaign, its partners and the “46664 Ambassadors”.
From now on, the site will slowly grow as the 46664 campaign itself grows. The campaign was previously aimed at creating awareness about HIV and AIDS, but it is now a campaign for broader humanitarian issues, inspired by the legacy of its founder, Nelson Mandela.
