The diversity of the work we do at Flow is the result of the wide range of clients we have on our books.
This week we are profiling TEACH South Africa, a client we have worked with for nearly two years now.
TEACH South Africa was started by members of the South African business community to find ways to improve South Africa’s public education and to look into ways to remove inequalities in South African education.
In an attempt to contribute towards solving South Africa’s education crisis, TEACH South Africa’s founding members decided to place high-achieving recent university graduates in classrooms in poorer schools.
These employed graduates are referred to as TEACH South Africa ambassadors and teach maths, science, technology and English at the disadvantaged schools they’re placed in, for two years.
These ambassadors try to prepare learners for tertiary education and the workplace and are committed to the huge responsibility they have taken on. In addition to helping develop future generations’ ability to succeed, the ambassadors themselves learn leadership skills, among others.
In the past few years, Flow has worked closely with TEACH South Africa, developing and writing for the organisation’s website, conceptualising recruitment campaigns, and compiling and sending out a regular newsletter, among other things.
