Flow Communications

In 2009, Flow introduced Maropeng to social networking. We believe that this has contributed to the number of visitors to the Maropeng website growing by 38% this year.

Maropeng Harry

It has been great to share the happenings at Maropeng with guests, visitors and fans, especially through the highly popular weekly photo essays.

Through its Flickr account, Maropeng has shared beautiful pictures from the Cradle of Humankind and been part of the great shutter moments of its Flickr group members.

Facebook is a social networking site that connects people, and this year Maropeng created a Facebook profile for Harry the Hominid. His list of friends continues to grow steadily. There’s also a Maropeng – Cradle of Humankind fan page that has hundreds of followers already.

Twitter lets people share and discover what’s happening at any moment, anywhere in the world – and it has kept people in the know about what’s happening at Maropeng.

All in all it has been a successful social networking journey with Maropeng and it’s bound to get even better. Have to be careful though – it can get addictive!

I look forward to more networking with Maropeng in 2010!
