The Dominican Convent School (DCS) is one of Flow’s oldest clients. We have designed and edited its annual magazine for years, and recently completed its latest issue.
Flowstars Ros Caboz, Tina Brown, Stephanie Mazingi and George Xafis were the brains behind the project, and were delighted to receive gifts of flowers and chocolates from the school as a thank you.
“We managed to pull it off in such a short space of time, and I am so happy the client is pleased with the final product,” says Flow designer Stephanie.
“DCS is a client that is close to home for me, having gone to a convent school myself,” she adds.
Says George, of Flow’s design team: “This magazine is a great example of synergy! We all made it happen and produced an informative yet visually pleasing magazine.”
The magazine is a clean, neat and vibey compilation of reports, letters, special memories, accolades and student efforts. Pages are framed in hues of red, blue, black and white, showcasing the school’s progress and a wonderful collection of photos and student artwork.
Tina, Flow’s design studio manager, oversaw design of the magazine and took charge of making sure it all came together.
Says Tina, “Well done to everyone on an amazing team effort!”
Says Ros, who organised the project and acted as client liaison, “This is a good example of great teamwork. The client was super-organised, efficient and involved, while Flow had a brilliant design team working on the project – George produced the fresh new design, Stephanie did the initial layouts and most of the DTP, and Tina polished it all.
“Tara [Turkington, CEO of Flow] made sure the subediting was up to Flow standards, and the job printed beautifully without any hitches.”
And the client was very impressed.
“From an already good product, Flow lifted its standards even further with a redesign that smartened and tweaked to create an excellent magazine,” says DCS headmaster Mike Thiel. “Nothing was too much trouble, and this professional commitment to quality makes Flow wonderful to work with.”
