Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT) is a United Kingdom-based risk and insurance brokerage that opened its first South African branch towards the end of last year. JLT asked Flow Communications to create a website for its South African operation.
Design studio manager Tina Brown says, “JLT has a very strong corporate identity,” and Flow designed the site to fit into the international brand. The content for the JLT site comes from a small team of JLT employees, and Flow was required to build the site in such a way that JLT is able to update it itself.
During this project, web developer Dimitri Kouvdis was able to use a new development method to speed up the production of the site – a dynamic stylesheet language technology called LESS. He says, “JLT was my first project in which to try it out and it was successful. Now I am using this technology and haven’t looked back.”
Tiffany Turkington-Palmer, managing director of Flow Communications, says, “Flow is very proud to be associated with JLT South Africa and it adds to our growing portfolio of insurance brokers. JLT is an internationally renowned insurance broker that is also a partner of one of Flow’s biggest clients, Etana Insurance.”
