More than 60 of the Mother City’s top attractions, destinations and hidden gems are now at the fingertips of visitors to South Africa.
The iVenture Cape Town Pass was recently launched at the Southern Sun Cape Sun hotel in the city centre. The iVenture City Pass is a successful international tourism initiative that has been rolled out in major global cities, including London, Barcelona, Dubai, San Francisco, Hong Kong, Sydney, Melbourne and Mexico City.
The iVenture Cape Town Pass is a ticket that gives you access to over 60 attractions in the city and its surrounds. The pass is swiped at attractions as a valid ticket – it covers your entry fee, allows you to the skip the ticket queue and gives you priority entrance.
The iVenture Cape Town Pass is available from several outlets around the city and allows visitors to create their own unique travel itinerary. Visitors do so by choosing one of three pass options, together with which attractions they’d like to go to:
- Flexi Pass, which allows you to choose any three, five or seven attractions
- Unlimited Pass, which offers a two-, three- or five-day option
- Unlimited Premium Pass – over a three- or five-day period and includes one premium experience. A premium experience is valued at R1 000 or more and is not applicable to the Flexi Pass or Unlimited Pass. There are currently eight experiences to choose from, including an Aquila Private Game Reserve safari and Cape Town Helicopters Atlantico tour

Flow Cape Town manager Kate Rau and I were invited by our client, City Sightseeing South Africa, to attend the launch event on 27 October 2016, where funny man Alan Committie was the emcee for the evening. Speakers included David Henwood (CEO of iVenture City Pass for Cape Town), Judy Lain (chief marketing officer of Wesgro) and Enver Duminy (CEO of Cape Town Tourism).
When Duminy took to the podium, he began by saying that Cape Town Tourism has partnered with iVenture Cape Town Pass to introduce the iVenture concept to the city.
“The iVenture City Pass will be a valuable asset to tourism in Cape Town, encouraging more visitors to explore more attractions, including our hidden gems. We welcome the extended global presence this internationally respected initiative will provide, and as Cape Town Tourism, we offer our endorsement,” he said.

Flow clients City Sightseeing South Africa, Two Oceans Aquarium and Table Mountain Aerial Cableway have all endorsed the initiative and are among the attractions and activities you can experience with the iVenture Cape Town Pass.
City Sightseeing Cape Town has also added a Blue Route Pass to its list of current red bus offerings. This pass is a one-day red bus ticket plus free entry to your choice of three of City Sightseeing’s listed attractions.
You can also purchase an iVenture Cape Town Pass card or Blue Route Pass at the City Sightseeing Cape Town tour offices – V&A Waterfront (stop 1) or 81 Long Street (stop 5).
