It’s been an eventful year at the Flow Cape Town office. Here’s a look at some of the highlights of the year, and some of the work we are most proud of:
February
- We hosted a successful Instameet for City Sightseeing, with bloggers and influencers joining us for a lovely bus trip through the Cape Winelands, with prizes won and fun had by all
- We assisted the Childhood Cancer Foundation of South Africa to promote awareness around International Childhood Cancer Day, 15 February, as Table Mountain was turned blue for an evening
March
- After months of hard work, we launched a new-look website for Africa’s greenest hotel. Hotel Verde now boasts a modern, responsive website that takes handles online bookings and educates the public on the hotel’s impressive green credentials
April
- Table Mountain Aerial Cableway’s managing director resigned after 18 years at the company, and we were honoured to put together a short profile video of Sabine Lehmann as she reflected on her time at the company
May
- Once again we played host to Instagrammers and bloggers for Table Mountain Aerial Cableway’s #KidzSeason meetup, to help promote a special offer. The Instameet was well received by parents and kids alike
- Cape Town-based Flow videographer Stuart Buchanan completed a week-long shoot in the Cradle of Humankind, compiling a promotional video and documentary about the area
June
- We helped the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway launch its online recruitment drive, building a special landing page on its website, creating an online form and shooting a series of videos to encourage people to apply
- The Two Oceans Aquarium closed one of its main exhibits and opened a brand-new one, and we were on hand for the day of the “big move”, when animals had to be carefully transported to their new home
July
- Much like herding cats, chaperoning comedians as they toured Cape Town on a City Sightseeing bus was a chaotic but fun experience for our Flowstars
August
- We also took some time out to bond as a team and explore our beautiful city, and our walking tour through the Bo-Kaap made for a perfect day out of the office
- Despite having already had a peek behind the scenes, we also attended the official public opening of the Two Ocean’s Aquarium new I&J Ocean Exhibit at an exclusive evening event
- Hotel Verde celebrated its third birthday in August, and Flow helped spread the cheer with a fun and quirky video
September
- For Arbour Month, Hotel Verde joined up with Greenpop to plant trees at a Cape Town school. Our Flowstars grabbed their proverbial spades and mucked in
October
- We jumped for joy when Flow walked away with seven New Generation awards, especially since three of the clients involved are Cape Town-based
- We took to the high seas for Hollard and provided social media and video coverage for the annual RISKAFRICA Regatta
November
- Flow worked with Open Africa, Tour2.0 and Destinate to launch Open Africa Travel, a special campaign site to promote select travel experiences around the country
December
- While executive chef at The Collection by Liz McGrath Peter Tempelhoff cooked up a new restaurant space at The Marine Hotel in Hermanus, we cooked up a new website to go along with it
- We worked with business strategist Anni Hoare to create a new website for her business, Crossroads Company
All of this and plenty more have made 2016 a busy and productive year. Our team has also expanded, and so we are looking forward to another busy, productive and fun year ahead in 2017.
To all our clients and friends, have a safe and enjoyable festive season, and all the best for the new year.
