Flow Communications

Before you read any further, I just have one quick question: do you follow us on Instagram?

You don’t?

You really should. Just click here: Instagram. Don’t worry, I’ll wait.

Done? Okay, great! Let’s go.

A few short months ago, I joined the Flow social media team. One of my first priorities was taking a look at our Instagram account. This proved to be a difficult task for me in two ways: first, picture-taking has never been one of my key strengths because my hands shake, I’m 80% blind, and I get performance anxiety every time; and second, I always seem to think about taking photographs only after the fact when it is too late.

You see where I’m going with this, right? Disaster city up ahead ...

So I decided that instead of attempting to curate a beautiful Instagram account all by myself, I would enlist the help of my fellow Flowstars.

On a windy autumn day in May #GoWithTheFlowstars came to life. The idea was to give Flowstars an opportunity to take over the account for a week each. During this time, they could post photos of whatsoever their hearts desired, except that they were also given a brief.

*cue dramatic build-up music*

Flowstars were asked to take five photos in specific themes, namely a human you love/mildly appreciate, a cityscape, minimalist, a passing stranger, and black and white.

Here are some of the best shots so far:

It has been a rewarding and interesting experience to see the world through the eyes of different Flowstars. And there’s so much more to come!

A new Flowstar takes over our account every Friday, so keep an eye out for their selfie … The takeovers last for a week and feature Flowstars from every department in our agency.
