One of Flow’s long-standing clients, Fulcrum, has just launched its new brand. Flow was privileged to create a website featuring the new look. The site was designed in collaboration with Fandam.
Flow graphic designer Clement Nkoko says the following about the experience: “This was an interesting and unusual project, because Fandam did the styling, and Flow Communications did the layout, content and development. My job was to reapply the styling for online and its social elements. It was a great collaborative effort.”
Another challenge, presented to senior writer and editor Willem Steenkamp, was to bring the new brand across in the website content and to demonstrate the broad reach of Fulcrum’s services and group structure in a concise yet complete fashion.
“I’ve worked on content – both writing and editing – for Fulcrum for several years now, and perhaps more than anyone else at Flow have witnessed the company grow and evolve. The new website is certainly a strong representation of its metamorphosis into a mature, significant player in the insurance industry, and I very much look forward to working on it. I wish the Fulcrum team all of the best with their new brand identity! They’re a fantastic group of professionals, and I believe we’re going to see them go on to do even greater things,” says Willem.
The new website has all the functionality of the old site with up-to-date stocks and exchange-rate information that renews automatically as soon as new information is released by the databases accessed. This is supplemented by a downloadable PDF of the latest important financial data, compiled on a regular basis by Fulcrum. It has been created to be fully responsive and works seamlessly on a wide range of browsers and devices.
As the website developer, I found it interesting to be exposed to another design team’s views on the new site, and to make their design come to life in a fast, well-built website, especially given the strict deadlines we were working towards.
Flow will soon be training Fulcrum’s website management team so that they can maintain the site and add news and daily updates. This is an important part of keeping a website up to date and relevant and is also a big part of why the site was developed using Craft CMS. The system is completely custom designed to meet Fulcrum’s specific needs.
