Flow recently created an online home for NGO Flying Children.
Flying Children is an organisation dedicated to improving the quality of care available to pre-school children in South Africa’s disadvantaged areas. It runs a number of teaching programmes in these areas, training student teachers, and helps revamp the schools themselves by carrying out charitable makeovers.
The new website offers users information about Flying Children’s ongoing projects, and also acts as a source of information and resources for its student teachers.
Flow developer Darren Caboz worked on the website – his very first for Flow – and was pleased with how the project went.
Says Caboz, “It was a really interesting project to be part of. The team involved was excellent! Working for a such a groovy cause makes the job even more satisfying. I wish Flying Children all the best in what they’re trying to achieve!”
Stephanie Mazingi designed the website, creating a colourful and vibrant look and feel for the organisation’s online space.
Says Stephanie, “Working on the Flying Children website was challenging in terms of coming up with a design that was professional, but still showed that the organisation is child-orientated. In the end, our client seemed very happy, so I am happy – and I loved the cake we received from them to say thank you!
“I admire Flying Children because they go to some of the most poverty-stricken places in South Africa and offer the children a chance to learn basic things that every pre-school child should know. I wish them well in their endeavours and hope they get more sponsorship that will enable them to flourish.”
Says the founder of Flying Children, Lindy Harris: “We have a website! Yay! We think we probably have the most beautiful site in the world.”
