Flow Communications

Just over a year ago, Flow Communications’s Cape Town staff contingent, the Mountain Goats, embarked on an epic mission up Table Mountain. Project manager Leanne Pohlmann, the resident fitness freak, called that hike “moderate”, but it certainly wasn’t! This year, we decided to keep up the tradition, but with a far less strenuous hike up Lion’s Head. Here are some pictures of our adventure.

We left the office on Thursday, February 9 2012, at around 18h00. We can see Lion’s Head from our office, and it’s a five-minute drive there (when town isn’t overrun with tourists).

Table Mountain looking ridiculously beautiful.

Halfway! Still smiling ...

Have you hugged your fynbos today?

The full Lion’s Head hike, which spirals around the famous koppie, is roughly 5km long, and you ascend about 660m. Ladders and chains have been installed for the steeper bits.

... sort of.

The view from the top: no Photoshop was used in the capturing of this moment.

Lions9

It took us about 90 minutes to get to the top and back – excellent time!

The reward: pizza, beer and arguments about Madonna at Baccini’s in Kloof Street.
