Flow CEO Tara Turkington was interviewed this morning by John Robbie on Talk Radio 702 as part of the station’s Entrepreneurs SA promotion. Tara spoke about Flow’s latest venture, CollectiveCow, an online buying club that offers fantastic discounts for consumers through the power of collective purchase.
Entrepreneurs SA is a promotion run by Talk Radio 702 and FNB to help small business entrepreneurs take their companies to the next level by providing media exposure, as well as advice from entrepreneur and business developer Pavlo Phitidis. Pavlo has a string of degrees and 18 years’ experience in helping businesses reach their full potential.
“Tara has … an empathetic foresight, putting herself at the endgame, thinking like a customer and then building the business towards that emotional experience [that] the customer would enjoy, be it in the communications company or CollectiveCow,” he said in the interview.
Pavlo commented on where he saw the future of CollectiveCow in South Africa: “I think long term it’s going to grow into a national opportunity.”
He called on all businesses, especially those in the entertainment industry, to visit CollectiveCow.com, get themselves listed and put a deal out to the public. He also encouraged the public, particularly larger families looking for discount on entertainment, to register on the site.
Tara described CollectiveCow as an ideal platform for retailers wanting to introduce their products to individual buyers and for consumers looking for good deals. Registration is free and the site, in Tara’s words, is “humming”.
“Now we need people to know about it!” she said.
Today’s deals include 75% off entrance to the Maropeng Visitor Centre in the Cradle of Humankind, 60% off at News Café and a 50% discount at the Kyalami Kart Circuit.
