Two years after designing and developing a website for the KwaZulu-Natal Music Industry (Kumisa), Flow won a second tender to upgrade, modernise and add technical functionality to the site.
Having adopted the motto “find your voice”, Kumisa is using its online presence to call to action all aspiring musicians in the coastal province. The new site (www.kumisa.com) was launched ahead of a media presentation in Durban on June 15 and was well received by all music industry stakeholders in attendance.
The site features added attractions such as SoundCloud, a members’ ticker feed, improved video upload functionality, greater visual appeal and a more streamlined membership registration process.
Allied to the site are active social network platforms such as YouTube, Twitter (@KUMISA_Network) and Facebook, where follower numbers are growing steadily.
Says designer George Kouvdis: “I enjoyed the redesign of the Kumisa site, as it entailed the visual challenge of making a lot of content stand out and speak to a huge audience. A limited colour scheme, bold typography, as well as great photography, brought the richness of the site alive, while allowing for easy navigation to and from information portals within the site.”
George’s development counterpart Dimitri Kouvdis echoed his sentiments, saying it had been revamped into “an attractive and visually appealing site”.
