Judith Browne joined Flow this week as a sub-editor and is excited by the variety and scope of the projects she’ll be working on here.

Sub-editor, Judith Browne.

Judith holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Marketing and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in English Literature from the University of the Witwatersrand. She went on to complete her Master’s in Modern Literature and Culture, focusing on South African literature, at the University of York in the United Kingdom. Despite her qualifications, she still believes “The School of Life and Hard Knocks” is the most effective teacher.

Judith has worked in marketing in New York and Singapore and joins Flow after a stint with the South African National AIDS Council (SANAC), where she worked as the advocacy officer in their communications, advocacy and campaigns unit.

Judith joined Flow because, “I was looking for work more in my area of expertise and interest. I’ve always considered myself something of a word tinker and in more immediate ways I get to explore and expand this ability at Flow.”

Aneshree Naidoo, Flow’s outgoing sub-editor, has been working closely with Judith while showing her the ropes and says, “Judith is a stickler for detail, so is clearly going to enjoy her position as sub-editor here at Flow. She is also fitting in with the writing studio quite comfortably, sharing our whacky senses of humour.”

Says Flow’s CEO Tara Turkington, “Judith started on Monday on a six-month contract, but by the end of the day, we’d offered her a full-time job. She has a remarkable ability with words, and we hope she’ll flourish at Flow, and we welcome her warmly. We are sure that just as she’s immediately won over her colleagues, our clients will love her, too. Welcome, Judith!”
