Portia Manoko and Kate Thompson at the Million Man March

Two Flow staff members attended the Million Man March in Pretoria today, along with thousands of other South Africans.

The march, which was championed by South African actor and comedian Desmond Dube, was organised as an anti-crime initiative. According to their website, “the march aims to unite all South Africans against crime.”

Several political parties, activist groups and religious organisations were present. The Democratic Alliance had a particularly visible presence.

Flow office manager Portia Manoko and media developer Kate Thompson travelled to Pretoria to take part in the gathering, and stand in solidarity against the unacceptable levels of crime in the country.

“My favourite thing about today was seeing that people are stillpassionate about South Africa, and want to find ways to solve the crime problem,” said Manoko.

“Yes,” agreed Thompson, “I was excited to be part of the crowd at such an important event. I really hope they continue to hold these marches periodically throughout South Africa until things improve.”
