Cheers! Last week Flow launched the new SAB World of Beer website, which employs bold designs, engaging copy and heightened user interactivity.

The World of Beer was born in 1995, and was then known as the Centenary Centre, a museum showcasing the history of beer in South Africa. The walking tour has since been streamlined to offer visitors a vibrant glimpse into beer drinking cultures from around the world, and SAB (South African Breweries) wanted this portrayed through its website.

“The World of Beer team was extremely accommodating, and helped ensure that gathering content for the site went as smoothly as possible,” says Flow journalist and media developer Stuart Dickinson.

“The website features a detailed exhibition guide, where you’ll be able to browse through the in-depth information displayed in certain rooms on the World of Beer walking tour. You can also take a virtual tour on the website, and each room features interactive click-through pages where people can learn more about the different aspects of beer.”

Flow designer Ryan Levenson says the warm and friendly environment found at the World of Beer has been captured through the web design.

“To do this, we created a crisp interface for general information and highlights of rich texture and colour in promotional areas. We also spent a lot of time on image treatment to really capture the feeling of that beer culture. It was an exciting client to work with and I look forward to doing more work for them.”
