Flow Communications recently partnered with Hollard Insurance to help them launch their new intranet, known as OH.
“In the six weeks leading up to the launch we helped them with internal communication planning and content, creating hype around the new system and making sure that all ‘Hollardites’ (as their team member are affectionately known within the company) were kept up to date on the ins and outs of OH ahead of its official launch on May 3,” says Flow journalist Stuart Dickinson, who formed part of the project communications team.
OH project leader Francois Potgieter explained the platform was designed to help streamline day-to-day activities at the company by providing an online document repository, employee interaction hub, and general resource for news and information within Hollard.
“This is a very exciting time for us. OH is set to revolutionise the way we work and interact with one another,” he said.
Flow got involved with the project at the end of March.
“Hollard included Flow on the project communications team, allowing us to assist in generating a workable and effective roll-out communications plan,” says Stuart. “Once we had bedded the strategy down, we set about providing and editing content for a variety of communications, including internal emails, newsletter articles, posters and the ‘how to’ guide for first time users.
“We also edited content for the site itself, including business unit descriptors and FAQs, and provided some user journey troubleshooting before the site went live.”
Beverley Stockler of Hollard is full of praise for the Flowstars who worked on the OH intranet project.
“We asked for it and we got it – the most awesome communications plan to make sure that people were teased, intrigued and generally kept informed about what the OH project team had up their sleeves,” she said.
“We couldn’t have done this without the fabulous Flow team of Colin, Stuart and Christine. Thanks guys for keeping Hollardites OH so connected.”
The intranet was launched with tremendous energy and fanfare on May 3. Hollardites were taken on a tour of their new intranet platform as they arrived at work after the long weekend, sipping on smoothies as they learnt how OH would make their lives so much easier in coming months.
“The platform is user friendly, informative and very easy on the eye! I actually want to look at it,” said Hollardite Clare Everts.
Prashika Ramnandh agreed, and added that OH was everything she expected after hearing the hype. “This will definitely change how we work at Hollard – everything we need is right here! Now I can also direct people to OH if they require specific company information.”
OH will be rolled out in phases over the next 18 months, and Flow will continue to work with Hollard as they reveal more and more of the site’s functionality.
