Facing an army of journalists firing questions at you is not the easiest of tasks. But you can learn to sail through it with the help of Flow Communications.
Flow offers a media training course that is designed to help executives deal effectively with the media.
On Friday 6 July 2012, Flow Communications coached the Department of Tourism on how to deal with the media. The session was so successful that it featured in the department’s weekly newsletter – Weekly News in Brief.
“Working with the Department of Tourism was a pleasure,” says Flow’s Colin Ford, who facilitated the course. “Because of our familiarity with the tourism industry – through working with clients such as South African Tourism, Cape Town Tourism and Gauteng Tourism – the Flow team was able to provide training that was 100% tailored to the delegates’ specific experience and expertise.”
Aniesha Bulbulia, communications unit manager at the Institute for the Advancement of Journalism (IAJ), which commissioned Flow to present the course to its clients, says: “For over 10 years the IAJ has been offering this media training course to a vast group of organisations – from government to private corporations – to help them understand that it is vital to communicate with the media.
“Our course is different in that we give an unbiased and objective media training course that covers the most important aspects of the media.”
Flow Communications has also trained employees of the South African Social Security Agency, the Northern Cape Legislature, Northern Cape Department of Housing and M-Net, among others.
