As one of Gauteng’s flagship sporting events held in Johannesburg each year, the Sansui Summer Cup is an opportunity for all involved to bring together fashion, music, sport and lifestyle savvy in one stylish not-to-be-missed event.
And who better to take the lead in the online side of event marketing than Flow?
Tasked with the challenge of creating and maintaining a “curator site” that brings together information, image galleries, video content and up-to-date news about the Sansui Summer Cup, Flowstars brainstormed a solution and delivered a spectacular product to the client, the Gauteng Tourism Authority (GTA), as the comment below attests to:
“Hi, Summer Cup team,
“I just wanted to thank you so much for a wonderful page and for all the hard work that went into it. The Sansui Summer Cup page is Joburg’s most sensational web page right now!” – Kay Robertson, e-marketing manager at GTA.
Hosted on www.gauteng.net/sansuisummercup, the Summer Cup curator site is a one-stop shop for GeePees looking to find out exactly what the race, the venue, the fashion and the associated events are all about.
A video gallery of content showcases Sansui Summer Cup fashion and fillies, while the Flickr feeds pay tribute to the 2011 theme, “Bling your Pink”. Integration with Twitter and Facebook link the mini-site to the larger GeePee audience, while original content and daily blogs keep visitors in the know regarding Gauteng’s oldest horse racing event.
So what’s different to the official Sansui Summer Cup site? The Gauteng site offers GeePee competitions for those who want to enter and attend the race, video and image-gallery content that is updated daily, and original content about the history and culture of Turffontein and horse racing in Gauteng.
Scheduled to take place on Saturday 26 November, race day promises more than just a 2 000m dash by 12 fit fillies. Events also include the Sansui Sound Experience, where local DJs and musicians will entertain the crowds with live jams; a Celebrity Dash (all monies go to charity); a daring Mankini Dash (men only please, ladies); and various on-the-spot prizes for Sansui’s best-dressed male, female and couple.
We’d love you all to join us at the event, but for those of you that are staying at home, please follow the news and excitement by joining us on Facebook and following us on Twitter.
