Flow Communications

Quirky, creative Cape Town hotel, the Grand Daddy, has a brand new website. Working closely with the Grand Daddy team, Flow Communications designed a new look and feel for the legendary hotel’s website, paying tribute to its delicious attention to design detail as well as its prime location on Long Street, the Soho of Cape Town.

The Grand Daddy’s marvellous interior is reflected in the new site design. From the brocade-like background to the photo galleries that leave something to the imagination, the new site has something in common with the hotel itself: It’s truly beautiful to look at.

For their new home on the web, those at the Grand Daddy wanted pictures to do the talking. Stunning visuals dominate the site and are accompanied by sharp, short, enticing copy.

The site’s structure is equally uncluttered and user-friendly, with the various aspects of the Grand Daddy’s services neatly arranged under “Book”, “Eat”, “Sleep”, “Drink” and “Play” concepts, with “Venues”, “Blog” and “Gallery” rounding off the offering.

The blog section is new to the Grand Daddy and is the ideal platform to share news about the worlds of entertainment and design in inner-city Cape Town.

As well-known and much-loved venues for live music, the Grand Daddy’s Sky Bar and Daddy Cool Bar are wildly popular with locals and tourists and, as such, a comprehensive calendar functionality was vital for the new site. The “What’s Happening at the Daddy” page is regularly updated and automatically removes events that have already taken place, making it your up-to-date place for all of the hotel’s exclusive and exciting events.

The Grand Daddy has a large and loyal following across all the major social networking platforms, including Facebook and Twitter, so these are given prime real estate on the site.

Visitors can also book through the website, as well as leave comments and make enquiries at the click of a button.

All in all, it’s a world-class online solution for a world-class and wacky hotel, one that Cape Town can be proud of!
