The book and video designed by Flow for GIZ.

Flow Communications has completed another beautiful print publication for GTZ, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit, an institution of the German federal government that offers technical support to developing communities around the globe and was recently renamed the GIZ, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit.

The book, titled Promoting Community Dialogue to Tackle HIV/AIDS, documents the collaboration of the GIZ with the Nelson Mandela Foundation as part of the HIV/AIDS community conversations programme. The aim of this programme was to build capacity within communities and give them a space to work together to address the HIV/AIDS-related challenges that they face.

Featuring photographs by experienced freelance photographer John Hogg, this visually emotive book details the journey taken by communities across South Africa as part of the dialogue programme. A four-minute video and multimedia summary accompanies the book, and features an animated slideshow of photographs interspersed with sound bites from dialogue participants.

Of the experience managing this project, Flowstar Roshni Nana says: “Working on this project was both intimidating and exciting. The brief was to create a coffee-table book with a complementary yet contrasting video. A collaborative effort by a team of talented Flowstars delivered two beautifully crafted pieces of work.”
