Flow Communications

Flow Communications and Cape Town Tourism delivered several exciting initiatives at the Cape Town Tourism AGM last week.

The AGM was broadcast live on Cape Town Tourism’s website, through a custom page designed and developed by Flow. The page also included a Twitter feed and live blogging, making it both interactive and informative.

Flow media developer Leon Jamarie did the camera work, while Flow’s ace programmer, Stephen Frank, ensured all technical requirements for the live streaming, including all digital presentations during the event, were met. Live blogging is one of my favourite writing challenges and I was delighted by the opportunity to provide online commentary for such a prestigious event.

Behind the scenes, Flow project manager Leanne Pohlmann, along with Flow programmer Alex Cowling, ensured that all requirements for the live streaming were met within tight timelines.

During the AGM, Cape Town Tourism revealed its new-look website, which now includes customised home pages for visitors from key markets that include the United Kingdom, United States, Germany and The Netherlands.

When internet browsers from these countries arrive on the Cape Town Tourism home page, they are served specific content relating to how they can get to Cape Town, how long it will take, what it might cost, and useful information on visas, time zones and currency exchange.

Congratulations to everyone involved in making the 2011 Cape Town Tourism AGM such a digital success.
