The City of Cape Town’s motto is “This city works for you,” and Flow Communications can now proudly say, “We work for this city!”

Leon Jamarie, Ingrid Sinclair and Roy Barford have started working with the City of Cape Town’s e-communication department and are assisting with daily content updates, mini-site development, newsletters, social media and much more. They are thoroughly enjoying the variety of tasks and relishing the opportunity of working with some of Cape Town’s most important decision-makers.
Flow was contracted through a tender process and we were impressed at the measures taken by the City of Cape Town to ensure that all candidates met the requirements.
It’s great to be playing such a big role in delivering information to Cape Town residents, and we’re very excited about some of the upcoming projects. We’ve previously collaborated with the city’s e-marketing team during events such as the 2010 FIFA World Cup and campaigns such as the successful drive to get Table Mountain voted as one of the New7Wonders of Nature.
Residents can visit the City of Cape Town website for information about various services, upcoming events and news.
Says Leon of his experience so far: “Working in the City of Cape Town’s e-communication division has been challenging but also extremely rewarding. The change of pace and scenery has allowed for a change in perspective and a renewed passion for writing and online media.
“Having previously worked for a government department, I am glad to say adjusting to the politics of a new environment was not too hard and I am glad to report that the misconception that government workers do nothing all day is not true. Every day I encounter passionate individuals who all combine to make the city’s slogan of ‘working for you’ a truth.
“I’m delighted with the new working relationship, am looking forward to the challenges ahead, and to revitalising the City of Cape Town’s online presence while still engaging with my passions of travel, tourism and social media.
“Residents of Cape Town can look forward to major changes in the next few months as we put the Flow stamp on this endeavour.”
Adds Flow CEO Tara Turkington: “We’re really proud to be working with the City of Cape Town on its website and e-communications. This is a case where we immerse ourselves completely when working with a client. Our staff go to the city’s offices on a daily basis and are even proud to sport their City of Cape Town staff security cards.
“Our Cape Town office has continued to grow nicely over the past few years, and we’re thrilled to add such a prestigious client to our portfolio.”
