Flow has been busy over the past months – complete with a brand-new office space on 2 Rosebank Road, a total of 11 new faces have joined the expanding Flow family.
Getting time to interview all 11 Flow-bies is a near-impossible task. But a kitchen run-into, Wine Friday chit-chat, or even a short bathroom conversation have offered ways to get to know them.
Rebecca Nattar is a member of the writing studio, so our conversations have been longer and more in-depth. She moved from Durban in order to pursue a writing position at Flow – she hasn’t become used to the Joburg weather yet and is always clad in a winter warmer, just in case.
Mpho Ngakana is a graphic designer whose other passions are rapping and clothing. Another fashion hero is PR account director Ally MacDonald, who makes her own clothing.
Another nifty way of discovering exactly who our new Flowstars are is through their induction forms, which are displayed in the pod area on the second floor. Every Flowstar goes through an induction process with project manager Janet Berger, and on the induction form light-hearted questions, such as who they would love to meet, their likes and dislikes, are asked.
Some interesting things learnt from the newbies:
- Don’t take on designer Cynthia Mohlomi on at a wrestling match, because she will beat you
- Design studio manager Thuso Khoeli would have loved to meet Tata Nelson Mandela
- Web developer Seskie Vhukeya is a master at chess, and his favourite sporting hero is Lionel Messi
- Buy perfume for project manager Christelle de Beer, and she will forgive you for everything
- On the other hand, PR account director Lee-Anne Collingridge will forgive you for a ticket to Tanzania to see the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area
- Project manager Angela Blake’s dream jobs are photographer and choreographer
- Writer Hayden Horner is a self-professed tequila master, and his dream job would be a dolphin trainer at uShaka Marine World
