When VAT IT – a global leader in cross-border value-added tax, and tax recovery – decided its website needed an upgrade, Flow was thrilled to become part of the site-development process. We were equally happy to share the project with Mama Creative, who were responsible for the design and content elements.
But what exactly is VAT IT, and what was expected of each team to meet the client’s needs?
In a nutshell, VAT IT is an innovative online service that helps clients maximise tax recovery through industry leading technology. VAT IT’s global operational resources enable it to serve more than 8 000 clients in 100 countries worldwide. These range from small and medium-sized enterprises, to large multinational corporations – across a wide range of sectors.
Commenting on the VAT IT website, which went live on 13 January 2016, Flow project manager Roshni Nana said, “This was a very technical brief for us considering that we only ran with the development aspect of the site, while our partner managed the design and content elements of the brief.”
She added that while it can be challenging for different agencies to work together on a project, Mama Creative and Flow have a history of successful collaboration.
"This says a great deal about our working relationship and also about how our team and theirs understand and respect each other’s vision. Ultimately we both have the client’s needs at heart and this is why the end result is always a winning product," said Roshni.
Flow web developer Alex Cowling took on the VAT IT development brief with confidence.
"Alex was amazing and she really impressed the client with the development aspect of the project. It's always a pleasure working with her," said Roshni.
Alex enjoyed teaming up with industry peers "to put together a very sophisticated site, with multilingual and multi-site architecture".
"We're working in phases to get all these features in place, including a staff-training portal and an elegant document repository," said Alex.
