Today is International Childhood Cancer Day and Flow Communications is helping the Childhood Cancer Foundation of South Africa (CHOC) to raise awareness about this.
For an idea of what CHOC does and why they do it, watch the video below, which was made in collaboration between Flow and Chris Roberts.
Recent research shows that in many developed countires, 80% of children diagnised with cancer survive, but the survival rate in South Africa is closer to 50%. CHOC aims to ensure this survival rate increases, while continuing to support the families of children battling against cancer.
Tonight, Table Mountain will be lit up in blue (the colours of CHOC), to recognise International Childhood Cancer Day. If you live in Cape Town, please post your photos on social media and mention CHOC in your posts on Twitter and Facebook.
Below is a photo taken of Table Mountain on International Childhood Cancer Day last year.
On Friday, CHOC children lead South African and English cricketers onto the field at the Wanderers in Johannesburg, for the "Pink Drive" match, in which more than R500,000.00 was raised to fight breast cancer.
