Flow is soaring higher than ever with FlySAA.
SAA flies to over 40 destinations around the world, and is the largest airline in Southern Africa. The airline has celebrated being recognised as the best airline in Africa by the Skytrax World Airline Awards for 11 consecutive years.
Flow is working together with FlySAA’s new media marketing and communications manager, Sizwe Mdladla, and Kim Thipe, SAA’s head of marketing, to put together content that users will find interesting.
“We’re using the social media platforms as an information driver,” says Flowstar Gail Cameron, who is a project manager on the FlySAA project. “Posting lots of relevant links drives people back to the SAA website and its other platforms, thus increasing traffic.
“Our main focus is on posting interesting and informative content that really reflects South African Airways’ good side.”
Melanie-Ann Feris, who oversees FlySAA’s social media platforms, says it’s great to see people sharing the good experiences they’ve had with SAA and its staff.
“We’re currently sitting at 32 000 followers on Twitter alone. The number of followers on Twitter and Google+, as well as likes on Facebook, have grown significantly.
“This can be attributed to the interesting content posted daily, which gives users something new to see and read every day,” says Melanie.
Visitors to the FlySAA social media pages will see current promotions and specials, photographs taken by SAA passengers who enjoyed their experience with the airline, as well as a large variety of destinations that travellers should definitely visit.
“Working with Flow has been a great and interesting experience so far. We have definitely seen a growth in our following on the four social media platforms that we post on. Social media is definitely taking us places and helping us reach FlySAA’s customers around the globe,” says Sizwe.
One of the aims of FlySAA’s social media strategy is to align conversations between its users across all social media platforms worldwide. They’ve done this by amalgamating the numerous Facebook pages that were run from different parts of the world into one global Facebook page, which now has over 127 000 fans.
And everyone loves a good special and something to win, so keep your eyes peeled for a fun and exciting Facebook competition in the near future.
