Flow Communications

We have welcomed an eclectic bunch of new Flowstars into our writing, development, public relations and design studios in 2014.

Caven

The developers, renowned for being the least talkative Flowstars, have been joined by Caven Erasmus and Jarred Caboz. Both of them – to everyone’s surprise – are a lot chattier than the rest of their team.

Says project manager Roshni Nana about Caven: “Caven hit the ground running. He picked up very quickly and he has surprised me with his turnaround time. He is an absolute pleasure to work with.”

About Jarred, fellow developer Tinashe Gunda says: “He is still learning the ropes, but he’s going to turn out to be a great developer and asset to the team.”

The PR team has had quite a makeover this year. They left their “cosy cottage” and moved into our Johannesburg office; got a new manager, Caroline Smith aka #BossGogo; and were joined by Phindile Nxumalo and Karabo Sitto, with their wealth of knowledge, flair and style.

“Phindi has the media eating out of the palm of her hand. She is fantastic, always looks like a rock star and has the best hair,” Caroline gushes.

“Karabo has dived right in and she fits the team like a glove. I am learning the art of delegation from her, and her digital and social media skills are phenomenal,” says Caroline.

Caroline lost one member of her team, Cassidy Parker, to the writing studio. Writing studio manager Melanie Feris is chuffed about this addition to her team as well as the appointment of Carina van Wyk, Thrishni Subramoney and Roela Hattingh.

Published author Roela Hattingh joins the writing team.

The collective experience in the writing studio has increased significantly in the process, with Roela being a published author and Thrishni and Carina’s experience in journalism and subediting.

Says Melanie: “The amount of work for the writing studio has increased steadily and we knew we needed to get more writers and subeditors onto the team. We were so amazed by all the great applications we received when we advertised for the writing and subbing positions. We really could have employed any of the candidates we had shortlisted. The final decision was based not only on skill but attitude and personality as well. Every single one of the new team members brings something unique to the team.”

The designers have welcomed Kiril Velkov and Gaynore Adams. Both of them have received lots of positive feedback from fellow Flowstars about the work they have been doing.

“Kiril has been an injection of massive energy and character. He’s a brilliant designer,” says project manager Gianluca Tucci.

Says project manager Gail Cameron about Gaynore: “She has been such a wonderful asset; she’s enthusiastic and is always looking for awesome new ways to design.”

All of the new Flowstars have been living Flow’s values since day one. We hope they will be with us for a long time to come. A big welcome, once again!
