Flow is proud to announce the launch of a brand-new, user-friendly website for Northern Cape Tourism.

Highlighting the many experiences, attractions and activities that South Africa’s largest province offers – including Kimberley’s Big Hole, the Karoo, the stunning flowers of the Namaqualand, extreme adventure and alluring national parks – was not an easy task.

Flow’s teams went to work, producing a modern, clean and visually appealing website to keep readers’ interest and showcase the diversity of the Northern Cape.

“We had to make sure that the website is responsive, meaning that it is mobile-friendly and accessible on any device, including phones, tablets, laptops and desktop computers. It is user-friendly with a clear user-journey experience that inspires people to visit the Northern Cape,” says Flow graphic designer Cynthia Mhlomi.

Says Roy Barford, part of Flow’s business development team, “We've noted that with most travel-related websites, more than 60% of visitors are accessing the site using a mobile phone or tablet device, making it really important that these websites are mobile-friendly.

“The old Northern Cape Tourism website wasn’t mobile-friendly and it was essential to rectify this to ensure an improvement in Google search rankings, and, more importantly, to improve user experience.”

The new website is a guide to what a visitor to the Northern Cape needs to know, including what to do, where to go and where to stay. It is a wealth of information, with details of registered tour guides, maps and regular news updates. Visitors will also get great visuals of the different regions and updates on events happening in the province.

“All credit goes to the design team for a clean and simple design – although this was challenging, as it is a big site in terms of content and information. In the end we produced something that is both visually amazing and user-friendly. I am so excited to launch this new site for such a great client,” says Flow project manager Sasha Hall.

And, importantly, Northern Cape Tourism is very happy with the new site.

“We are very excited about the new website and that it is fully operational on all platforms. It is simply fabulous,” says Northern Cape Tourism’s general manager of marketing and promotions, Dianna Martin.
