Flow Communications this weekend launched a destination marketing blog for Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism, which we believe will help tell the wonderful stories of this fantastic region.

This is one of the most awesome projects I've worked on and I'm really happy with the final result. The blog was launched at the tourism INDABA on Saturday 10 May, and the response from those present was very positive. The project was done in partnership with Destinate, a destination marketing company headed by long-term Flow associate, Mariëtte Du Toit-Helmbold, who was the CEO of Cape Town Tourism for 10 years before she started Destinate last year.

The responsive design on the blog allows readers to view content seamlessly on smartphones and desktops. The platform also hosts a gallery with various categories of images and video.

Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism wants people from around the world to come and explore South Africa's path to freedom. Several key events in the fight against apartheid took place in Port Elizabeth and its surrounding areas, and these events aren't particularly well documented. I really enjoyed chatting to Geoff Foster, a historian and tour guide, who explained some of this to me. Read the blog about this.

We look forward to a long and fruitful parntership with both Destinate and Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism.
