Flow Communications

Flow’s reputation for excellence speaks for itself.

Time and again, the calibre of our previous output not only delivers results but also unlocks new opportunities for work – and we witnessed this recently in our first-ever collaboration with global rail company Alstom, the diamond sponsor at the Africa Rail 2025 exhibition.

It all began when Alstom invited Flow to bring the company’s vision to life at Africa Rail, which took place at the Sandton Convention Centre on 13 and 14 May 2025.

Alstom was aiming for an exhibition stand that would be a comprehensive representation of its brand – it envisioned the stand as an embodiment of its promise to take people on a greener and smarter journey.

To achieve this, the stand had to be inspiring, customer-centric, engaging and digital, leveraging technology to showcase the company’s offerings.

So we set out to craft a stand that would make Alstom impossible to ignore. The final product was a striking stand design anchored by a bold, central structure – a tree motif with rows of LED lights that branched upwards and outwards to resemble a tree’s canopy.

“One of the things that made the design stand out was the tree structure,” says Flow project manager Lesego Khutsoane. “It symbolised Alstom’s commitment to growth and prosperity. And because of the size and distinctive shape we had in mind, we collaborated with a safety engineer to guarantee that the structure had good structural integrity while making a visual impact.”

The exhibition stand elevated the Alstom brand on the show floor. Alstom’s response says it all: “We pride ourselves on pioneering next-generation mobility, and our exhibition was a vibrant manifestation of the Alstom brand,” says Alstom Southern Africa communications director Thandeka Mchunu.

“Flow’s stand design encapsulated our vision – their meticulous attention to detail and exceptional professionalism turned this into one of our most outstanding exhibition experiences in South Africa.”
