Flow Communications is celebrating a major win at the 2025 Smarties Sub-Saharan Africa Awards, where our work with the Hollard Elf Yourself! campaign was recognised on Thursday.

Awarded bronze in both the AI-Powered Audience Engagement and AI-Driven Creative Excellence categories, Elf Yourself! was an internal festive campaign that used AI to turn Hollard employees’ selfies into fun, personalised “elf” portraits – all while inspiring them to live out the company’s Customer & Broker Promise.

What started as a light-hearted end-of-year idea quickly became a clever way to boost staff morale and improve Hollard’s customer experience. The campaign encouraged employees to reflect on whether they’d been “naughty or nice” when helping customers, linking festive cheer to real business impact. The results spoke for themselves: Hollard’s customer satisfaction and online reviews (Hello Peter TrustIndex score) improved significantly after the campaign.

Elf Yourself! clearly inspired staff to live out the brand’s promise to “be human, stay connected and get it done”.
