The brand Just Charming was started by jewellery designer and then new mom, Robyn Gibson.
Gibson wanted to create a special gift for her husband – boy-shaped cufflinks with their son’s name and birth date engraved on them.
“What started out as a once-off gift for my husband soon developed into something bigger, as friends and family asked me to make them some too,” Gibson explains on her brand-new website, developed and designed by Flow Communications recently.
Just Charming offers a range of jewellery items, including charms, cufflinks, bracelets, necklaces and key rings.
Flowstars who worked on the website’s development and design are programming studio manager Richard Frank, design studio manager Lorraine Gumede and senior graphic designer Johan Sadie.
Gumede found working on this site very exciting: “Like most girls, I absolutely love jewellery, so working on a brand like Just Charming was right up my alley. The design was clean yet effective. I wanted to showcase the jewellery by having it prominent on the home page, with a subtle background that doesn't take away from the pieces.
“The photography was absolutely stunning, thanks to Johan, who captured and treated each piece to give it that striking sparkle and polish.”
Says Frank about the development challenges: “E-commerce website development is a tough game because you have to convince prospective customers that you are a credible and professional outfit that will deliver a great product, without having the bricks and mortar to back it up. We are happy to see that transactions are beginning to flow on the website.
“It was a great experience working with Robyn, who had a keen sense for design and also a very clear idea of what she wanted to achieve with the website.”
Gibson’s delight with the website was clear from an email she sent to the Flowstars who worked on the project: “I just wanted to say a BIG thanks to the three of you for all your hard work and effort over the past few months! My website has finally become a reality and it has been such a pleasure to work with a team that is dedicated and motivated to get things done.
